Dry cleaning and laundry aren't better or worse — they solve different problems. Choosing right protects both the garment and your wallet.

What dry cleaning actually is

It uses a liquid solvent instead of water. Because there's no water swelling the fibres, delicate and structured fabrics keep their shape, colour and finish.

Choose dry cleaning for

  • Silk, wool, suede and leather
  • Suits, blazers and anything tailored or lined
  • Sarees with zari, sequins or delicate embellishment
  • Oil-based stains, which solvent removes better than water

Choose laundry for

  • Cotton, linen and everyday t-shirts
  • Innerwear, towels and bedding
  • Sweat and water-based stains

When to ignore the tag

Brands often print "dry clean only" to avoid liability. Many cottons and polyesters labelled that way wash perfectly well. When you're unsure — especially on a first wash — let an expert test colourfastness first.

Not sure? Our pickup team checks the fabric and label for you and routes each item to the right process automatically.
